Delay Draft bus and coach delay letter
Long-distance bus late, cancelled or overbooked? Delay Draft writes a clear letter citing the rules that may apply, so you can send it yourself. The company decides; we do not promise any outcome.
Rules that may apply
- EU Regulation 181/2011 may apply to regular services of 250 km or more where you board or get off in the EU.
- Article 19: if departure is delayed more than 120 minutes, cancelled or overbooked, you should be offered a choice of continuing/re-routing or a refund. If that choice wasn't offered, compensation of 50% of the ticket price may apply on top of the refund.
- Article 21: on trips over 3 hours with a delay over 90 minutes, snacks/meals and, if needed, up to 2 nights' hotel (the company may cap this at EUR 80 per night) may apply.
- Complaints should be sent within 3 months of the trip (Article 27).
